A series of workshops introducing you to a variety of holistic modalities are held monthly on the third Thursday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at different venues in the East of the Connecticut River region. These workshops are free of charge. Practitioners associated with the Alliance are volunteering their services as a means to introduce individuals to alternative and complementary healing modalities. All religious traditions are welcome. Guided Meditation Class Come to the Center of Light once a month for a class that will provide you with deep guided meditations. Whether you are an experienced meditater or just a beginner, this class will offer you a chance to go deeper within to experience the peace that comes from getting out of the way and stilling your mind. Each class will have two components. The first half of the class will focus on the art of meditation. It will include a reading from the sacred text of one particular religion and a discussion of the teachings put forth there and their practical modern day application. Pre-registration required. Introduction to Christian Mysticism and Meditation 6 week course meeting Tuesday evenings 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. - FREE This is a powerful 6-week introductory course designed for modern mystics. Classes will include teachings on: the Inner Spiritual Path, Meditation, Soul, Light, Prayer and Blessing. Time will be spent teaching the principles of meditation that will allow you to move deeper than the body, beyond thinking and emotions, and into the reality of God's peace and presence within. In each class, we explore three areas: 1) Understanding the cosmos, the Laws and Beings that govern it, and our roles as living, conscious humans in that cosmos; 2) Spiritual exercises designed to help you develop skills needed for inner work; 3) Hands-on experiences, through which you can learn to see, hear, and feel the spiritual world. Enchantments was created by Headmistress and High Priestess Ms. Faith McCann to help those seeking to learn more about the magickal world, by providing a school where one can learn and associate with other like minded magickal people. Enchantments offers a first year program during which classes are held on Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Students choose one class weekly.
